Mastering the Roster

Every agent in the protocol is assigned a specific class designed to fulfill distinct tactical objectives. Understanding your role—and how it synergizes with your team—is the foundation of consistent competitive play.

⚔️

Duelists

Self-sufficient fraggers meant to create space. Agents like Jett or Reyna excel at taking aggressive first engagements, breaking chokepoints, and forcing defenders to react during a site execution.

👁️

Initiators

Information gatherers and flash-assists. Sova's recon darts or Breach's seismic blasts disrupt enemy crossfires, safely setting up Duelists to clear angles without dry-peeking.

☁️

Controllers

The architects of map vision. Omen and Brimstone use smokes to block sightlines, slice sites into manageable pieces, and force attackers or defenders through dangerous, predictable funnels.

🛡️

Sentinels

Defensive experts who lock down areas and watch flanks. Killjoy's turrets and Cypher's tripwires delay aggressive pushes, stall defuses, and provide passive information across the map.

Tactical Geometry

Controlling the Map Flow

Aim alone won't secure rounds. Superior positioning, understanding default setups, and executing crossfires are what separate average players from strategic minds.

  • Ascent Mid-Control Controlling the courtyard in Ascent dictates the rotation paths for both attackers and defenders, granting access to quick pivot plays.
  • Bind Teleporter Rotations Utilizing the unique teleporters on Bind allows for rapid, noisy fakes that can pull defender rotations completely out of position.
  • Trading & Crossfires Never hold an angle alone if you can hold it with a teammate. Establishing crossfires ensures that if one player falls, the enemy is immediately re-fragged.

Resource Economy

A team that manages their credits poorly will consistently lose to inferior aim. The economy system requires discipline: knowing when to save, when to half-buy, and when to force.

Vandal vs. Phantom

The classic debate. The Vandal offers consistent one-tap potential at any range, punishing poor crosshair placement. The Phantom excels in close-quarters, smoke-spamming without tracers, and fluid spray transfers. Your choice should reflect the angles you plan to hold.

Eco & Bonus Rounds

Losing the pistol round usually forces a save (eco). Winning it sets up an anti-eco advantage. The crucial "Bonus Round" happens in Round 3, where you carry over inferior weapons against fully equipped opponents to preserve economy for Round 4.
